Welcome To Our Website
A very warm welcome to the Nelspruit Rotary Club's website! My name is Marius Van Zyl and I am the 2009/2010 President for the Nelspruit Rotary Club. I am delighted that you have chosen to visit this site. I am confident it will be a great source of information not only to our members and other Rotarians, but also to the general public, who may be interested in our community projects, club fundraisers and of course all the fellowship and friendships we forge along our journey in Rotary.
You've possibly asked yourself on countless occasions"What would it take to change the World?" The answer is no mystery - it’s simply by doing one good deed at a time, no matter how small it may be. Imagine if every person on the plant displayed just one act of kindness towards another person, consistently & regularly. It could be anyone, from a family member to a complete stranger. If we were all ever mindful of the needs of those less fortunate than ourselves, and acted on our conscience, imagine what a difference we could make! Joining your local Rotary Club is your gateway to actually making a real difference in the community around you. If you live in the Mpumalanga Lowveld area, the Rotary Club of Nelspruit, may be just what you are looking for!
Through the Rotary Club of Nelspruit, you will be part of the Rotary International (RI) family. Make no mistake; we Rotarians are a tight-knit bunch, so I don't use the word 'family' lightly! Rotary International is the World's first service club organization, with more than 1.2 million members in 33,000 clubs worldwide, and has been growing successfully for over a century! All Rotary club members are volunteers. Members have the opportunity to volunteer their expertise, in their spare time, not only within the local community, but also regionally, and even internationally. At RI, we fight the good fight in our endeavours to combat hunger, improve health and sanitation, provide education and job training, promote peace, and eradicate polio under the motto 'Service Above Self'.
At Rotary we are categorically not affiliated to any other type of organisation. We are also not prejudice towards any gender, race, religion, background or social standing - we just care about your character. In all your thoughts and deeds; do you tell the truth? Is what you say and do fair to all concerned? Is it also beneficial to all concerned? Will it build goodwill and better friendships? If you have answered a resounding “YES!” to those four fundamental-in-a-Rotarian questions, then you are already a Rotarian at heart - so make it official! Come spend some time with us every Thursday from 13:00 - 14:00 at Kuzuri, Nelspruit Botanical Gardens, we would love to share our world with you!
